NOV 08. New burst of motivation. now 12st 8, so have put on a little of what i have lost. It stops here! I'm getting down to 11 sone which puts mu BMI in the middle of normal. This will be done in 4 months, loosing 5.5lbs per month - so that is what my smaller goals are, in terms of the bigger goal. I'm using my gym membership effectively and keeping my food log. nothing mega, just the usual way in which i loose weight best. come on!
SEPT 08: Still feeling very proud of myself! Taking advantage of my free time, after moving to Bristol, joined the gym straight away, and this week i've gone every day! It feels amazing and i have such will power, the secret is to stop listening to that voice in your head and just do what you are committed to doing. And i am! I submitted my 'bikini pics' to the forums, showing one pic from a year ago, then one from March, and the June. it's amazing to see it! Soon i'm going to add another photo to it, as i'm about to go on my holiday! (2 weeks in Greece eek. must keep exercising!) I have just set myself the mini-goal of loosing 6 pounds by the 10th October.

Indeed that is strange, and you've just graduated from university?? Did I read that right? I'm just starting my final year so hopefully by the time I get out in the real world I will be down to a healthy weight and feeling good!!
How is it coming along at the moment? I've had a bit of a stall on 12.5 as I'm feeling a bit too lazy to go out running and I'm waiting till I go back to uni at the weekend to start at the gym. Doing lots of walking and some cycling with my boyfriend though!! (Hes very into cycling so its helpful because he's always up for a ride!!)
How are you finding new life in Bristol? I've never been but I've only ever heard good things about it!! xx
I am sure you will get to your mini goal if you stick at it.
next smaller goal = 12stone in 2 weeks (loose 6lbs)
after that = 11 stone 7lbs in 4 weeks (loose 7lbs)
big big eventual goal = 11 stone mid October (after 2 week holiday break in Sept)
i need some motivation!!
Mums xx
I have been slacking recently - not as dedicated to logging any more, oops. BUT - i have not put any weight on! i'm really pleased with that, as i have still been mindful of my food intake, but i have been scoffing quite a lot! Exercise is not really at the top of my list, but i did get to spend my member of the month vouchers at Sweaty Betty, i have a cracking gym kit now!
I just set my new goal of a month to loose 5lbs, which would take me down to the being in the top of 11 stone weight. i don't remember my weight ever beginning with 11 stone!!
so i'm still keeping up with this, despite not logging and i have stopped counting my calories for 2 weeks now. naughty, but i don't feel bad for it, and i know that not putting lots of pressure on this will make it easier for me to achieve.
I graduate next week, hurrah! moving house straight after that too, so my life is busy and full, it's a good excuse ay!
no, no, no...i'm the original mcfattie not mcfittie (yet!)..
slowly getting up to speed with the site. it does look good and will help keep things going when the going gets tough.
well done on all your achievements so far, you've kept it up for time which is hard to do!
Keep up the good work anyhoo good luck with your finals!
I entirely agree with your approach of breaking weight loss into mini targets. Like me, you also seem to be weighing and logging regularly. But whereas I have recently taken early retirement, you are about to set out on your career. So take a word of advice: get your weight sorted now rather than waiting until your 50s! But don't be too hard on yourself at the moment - degree show, finals and house hunting is a lot to cope with. One of my mottos is "Set your goals high enough to inspire you, and low enough to encourage you". Even if you only manage to maintain your weight loss that would be achievement and show that you are in control of your diet. Once finals are finished, you will then have the energy to focus on serious weight loss.
My goal was 8lbs in 4 weeks, and i have lost 1lb, so i'm going to keep going with that goal and see if i can do it - without rushing too much. must find time for the gym too!
When i've completed that, i will have lost 1 1/2 stone, which is loads!!
Feeling really good that i've stuck to this, and i'm finding it easy and fun.
I've still got to up the exercise though, which i'll be doing this week as i'm back to uni after easter. come on!!
I had to extend my target a little because i didn't want to push for it in a week - slow and steady is better for me, definately. I know that next week i'm going to really go for it, and i'm really positive about meeting my target, which is 3 pounds, so wish me luck! then i can start on another target of about 7lbs in a month, and if i keep at 7lbs a month, i shall be at my ideal weight in the summer! perfect!
I will be upping the exercise too - i need to get on my gym ball and do some at-home pilates, as well as the gym twice a week.
thanks for reading!
Only just found your post on my page. So sorry about the dealyed response. Would you like me to be your motivator?
I'm off to aerobics today so in quite a gung-ho mood. Like the sound of your goals, they sound realistic and acheivable and for worthy things such as improving your strenght and posture (unlike my shallow reason, of trying to squeeze into a white dress for one day in my life ;-) ).
Let me know how you're getting on.
All the best
Claire
It looks like your doing great. keep up the good work and you know where to come for any motivation!
Have a good week
catherine
thanks for your comment on my page - I am determined this time so I don't spend year after year starting and stopping! Good luck with both your degree and reaching your goal weight - little by little will accumulate and get you there!
Good for you. It's not if but when, just imagine how brilliant it will be when you get there - don't forget to enjoy the journey.
C'mon!!
Andrew
